About SSF Security Ltd

SSF Security Ltd is a London-based security company providing SIA-licensed security personnel for businesses, events, venues, properties and private clients across London and the UK.

Our work covers a wide range of environments, including events and venues, retail premises, hotels and hospitality businesses, offices, construction sites, warehouses, residential properties and other locations where a controlled and dependable security presence is required.

The nature of the assignment determines the service.

A security requirement for a busy event is different from one for a construction site. A hotel has different priorities from a retail premises, and a vacant property has different requirements from an occupied office. We therefore start with the location, circumstances and duties that the client needs covered rather than treating every booking as the same type of shift.

Security Services for the Places, People and Events That Need Them

Understanding the Assignment

A security deployment begins with the brief.

Before personnel are assigned, the requirement may include the location, date and operating hours, number of guards required, access arrangements, expected attendance, areas requiring attention, site instructions, uniform requirements and any particular responsibilities agreed with the client.

For event work, this can involve areas such as guest access, entrances and exits, restricted areas, crowd movement, venue rules and incident escalation.

For premises-based security, requirements can include access control, monitoring, patrols, opening and closing procedures, protection of property, contractor access and reporting of incidents or unusual activity.

The purpose of understanding these details is simple: the personnel arriving on site should know what they have been engaged to do.

From Booking to Deployment

A Clear Four-Step Booking Process

Arranging security should be straightforward. Our booking process is designed to give the client a clear understanding of the requirement, the agreed service and what happens before deployment.

01 — Tell Us What You Need

Start by completing our Request a Quote form or contacting the SSF Security team directly.

We will ask for the essential details, including the type of security required, location, date, start and finish times, number of security guards needed and any specific duties or concerns.

For events, this may also include expected guest numbers, venue arrangements and access requirements.

02 — We Review the Requirement

We review the information provided and, where necessary, confirm the site address, timings, duties and any other details needed to understand the assignment properly.

Where a risk assessment or further site information is required, this is considered before the quotation is finalised.

You will then receive a quotation setting out the agreed deployment, including the relevant dates, timings, location, number of personnel, duration and key responsibilities.

03 — Confirm the Booking

Once you are happy with the quotation, you confirm that you would like to proceed.

We then issue the booking information and invoice, with the agreed shift details and payment deadline clearly stated.

Full payment is required before deployment, unless different payment terms have been agreed in writing.

Once payment has been received, the booking is confirmed and the deployment can be arranged.

04 — Personnel & Deployment

Before the assignment, the allocated security personnel receive the relevant information for the shift, including the location, timings, duties, dress requirements and any specific client or site instructions provided to SSF.

Where appropriate, the assigned guard may be contacted before the shift so that arrival arrangements and any final operational details are clear.

On the day, personnel attend at the agreed time and carry out the duties set out in the deployment brief.

What Happens Before the Shift?

A confirmed booking is more than a name being placed on a rota.

The relevant assignment information is communicated to the personnel attending the site so that they understand where they need to be, when they need to arrive and what they are responsible for.

Where the client provides additional instructions, access information, venue procedures or other operational requirements, these can be incorporated into the briefing.

Our operations team also remains available for reasonable changes or clarification before deployment, subject to availability and the requirements of the assignment.

Clear Information at Every Stage

From the initial enquiry to deployment, we aim to keep the process clear.

The People Representing Your Business

A security guard is often visible to the people using a site.

At a hotel, they may be dealing with guests. At a retail premises, they may be seen by customers throughout the day. At an event, they may be interacting with organisers, contractors, performers and attendees. At a construction site, they may be dealing with deliveries, contractors and site management.

The role therefore involves more than maintaining a visible presence.

Personnel working on an SSF assignment are expected to understand their instructions, remain attentive to the environment, communicate appropriately, record relevant information and escalate matters through the agreed reporting route when required.

For regulated security activities, SSF deploys personnel holding the appropriate SIA licence for the role.

Experience Across Different Environments

Security experience is most useful when it translates into an understanding of different operating environments.

Through SSF's own assignments and wider delivery and subcontracting work, personnel have supported security requirements connected with:

Sporting & Major Event Environments

Work associated with major football stadiums and sporting venues.

Racecourses

Security support within racecourse and event environments.

Retail & Shopping Locations

Security support for shops, restaurants, shopping environments and customer-facing premises.

Transport Environments

Assignments connected with railway and station environments.

Healthcare Environments

Security support within hospital-related settings.

Airport Environments

Experience supporting security requirements in aviation-related locations.

Hospitality & Licensed Venues

Restaurants, bars, hotels, entertainment venues and other hospitality settings.

Private Events & Functions

Weddings, birthday celebrations, private functions and entertainment events.

Construction & Property

Security presence for sites where access, property and physical assets require protection.

The experience listed above includes assignments delivered through partner and subcontracting arrangements as well as work undertaken in SSF's own service operations. We distinguish these relationships because the source and nature of experience should be clear to clients.

Security for Different Types of Requirements

There is no single deployment model suitable for every client.

Events & Venues

Security for events can involve access management, guest entry, restricted areas, venue rules, visible presence, incident prevention and liaison with organisers and venue personnel.

Retail & Shopping

Retail security can require a balance between a visible security presence, awareness of customer activity, protection of premises and appropriate response to incidents.

Hotels & Hospitality

Hotel and hospitality environments require security personnel who understand that guests and staff remain part of the operating environment. The role may include access control, monitoring, incident response and supporting venue procedures.

Construction & Development

Construction sites may require security at gates and access points, patrols, monitoring of site activity and protection of equipment, materials and property.

Corporate & Commercial Premises

Offices and commercial buildings can require reception or access control, visitor management, patrols, opening and closing duties and a consistent security presence.

Residential & Private Property

Residential developments, private properties and private functions can require controlled access, monitoring, patrols or event-specific security arrangements.

Short-Notice Security Cover

Security requirements can change quickly. A guard may become unavailable, an event may require additional personnel, or a client may need temporary cover at short notice.

Where personnel are available and the assignment can be properly arranged, SSF can provide short-notice security cover across London and other UK locations.

What Clients Receive

The service is built around the agreed requirement.

Clients are provided with clear booking information covering the assignment, timings, location, number of personnel and agreed duties.

Where applicable, personnel receive the relevant operational information before attending site.

During an assignment, communication can be maintained between the security personnel and the SSF operations team, with client contact available for matters that require escalation or clarification.

Where incident reporting is part of the agreed service, relevant information can be recorded and passed through the appropriate reporting process.

The exact responsibilities depend on the assignment and the client's requirements.

Our Approach to Security

We do not promise that security can eliminate every risk.

A security service has a defined purpose: to provide an appropriate presence, carry out agreed duties, identify and report concerns, follow site procedures, and respond appropriately within the scope of the assignment.

That is why we focus on the practical details surrounding each deployment.

Who needs access?

Where does access need to be controlled?

What areas require attention?

When does the security presence need to be in place?

Who should the guard report to?

What happens when an incident occurs?

What information does the client need before, during or after the shift?

These questions can make a greater difference to a security deployment than simply increasing the number of personnel on site.
